To double, or double down, as it is also called, the player will double their bet and then be dealt only one more card.

Splitting, as it sounds, is used when you have two of the same card. You can split it and effectively play two hands at once. In classic blackjack, splitting is allowed when you receive to face cards. If you want to split your cards, then you must place a bet next to split hand so that now you are in for twice the bet you started at. After you are dealt the next cards, you are not allowed to re-split. Also, there is no doubling down after splitting.
